Is that a mixed number 5 and 1/3 at the end?

    If so, we have:

    (1/4) (3x - 16) + (1/4) x = 16/3

If we multiply everything by 12, the LCD, we can get rid of the fractions.

    This gives us:

    3 (3x - 16) + 3x = 4 (16) 9x - 48 + 3x = 64 12x = 112 x = 28/3
