Caroline baked 3 dozen oatmeal raisin cookies for the bake sale at school. This is one fourth of the number of dozens of cookies she baked in all. How many dozen cookies did she bake in all?

    She baked 9 dozens in total, a dozen equals 12 so 3 dozens equals 36 (12 times 3) so 36 times 1/4 (1/4 into a decimal is 0.25) so 36 times 0.25 is 9 so it's 9 dozens but if counted one by one then it's 108
