Josh's roof is triangular. It has a base of 97.2 ft and a height of 17.25 ft. Josh's neighbor's roof has an area of 942 square feet. What is the difference in the area between Josh's roof and his neighbors?

    John" roof is triangular base of which = 97.2 ft and height = 17.25 ft

    Area of roof of John's neighbor = 942 square feet.

    To find:

    Difference in the area of roof of John and neighbor.

    Solution:

    Area of John's roof = ?

    Roof of John is triangular and area of triangle is calculated as below:

    1/2 (base*height)

    1/2 (97.2*17.25) = 838.35 square feet

    So, area of John's roof = 838.35 square feet.

    Difference between area of John's roof and roof of neighbor = 942-838.35 = 103.65 square feet.
