    Set the equation equal to y

    Add x to each side

    7y=14 + x

    Divide each side by 7

    y=2 + x

    The slope is whatever number corresponds with the variable x

    In this case there is no number in front of the x which indicates that the slope is 1

    To multiply by a second variable, use the * symbol. For example: 5abcb can be rewritten as 5abc * b.
