How do I solve - 7=y+13?

First you change it into slope intercept form.
Subtract y to both side.
-y-7=13
Then you add 7 to both side.
-y=7+13
Y can't be negative so you multiply - 1 to both side.
y=-7-13
y=-20

Isolate y, so subtract 13 from both sides. 7 - minus 13 is - 20. So that leaves us with - 20 equals y.
