3. A recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of flour, 3/4 cup of white sugar, and 1/8 cup of brown sugar.

(a) How many total cups of ingredients are there? Find a common denominator and then show your work using a number line.

(b) Which of the following mixing bowls should you use to make the recipe: 2-cup, 3-cup, or 4-cup? Explain why you choose this mixing bowl.

    The common denominator is 8 because when you have multiple fractions to add up, First, convert the mixed numbers to a fraction, and then add the fractions up with the common denominator. So, your final answer would be 17/8 when you add all the fractions up
