Damian; s computer repair shop earned $2,500 in income last week. Expenses were $3,750. What was Damian's profit or loss for the week? Explain

(My teacher said this question isn't only asking for subtraction)

    Having only $2,500 and taking away $3,750 will leave you with a negative - $1,250. Damian's loss of profit for the week was $1,250. Taking more than what you have will always lead to a negative, as if you overdrawn a bank account. This also means that next week he will have to make over $1,250 to really have had made a profit.
