There are a total of 63 bikes. If the ratio of blue bikes to black bikes is 4 to 5, how many of the bikes are blue?

    9 represents the total as 4 + 5 = 9

    4/9 are blue

    5/9 are black

    4/9 = 28/63

    28 of the 63 bikes are blue.
