Tom takes a taxi to work. There is an initial fee of $2.20. Each mile is calculated at $1.50. If Tom's final cost for the taxi is $12.70. How many miles did tom travel?

    Fee for distance = total fee - initial fee = 12.70-2.20 = $10.50

    Now, for 1 mile = $1.50

    for x miles = 10.50/1.50 = 7

    So, tom travel 7 miles.
