Jim is standing beside a pool. He drops a weight 4 feet above the surface of the water in the pool. The weight travels a total distance of 12 feet down before landing on he bottom of the pool. Explain how you can write a sum of interger to find the depth of the water

    Weight goes 4 feet down before hitting the pool

    therefor the pool is 12-4 ft or 8ft deep

    (12) + (-4) = 8 is the sum of integers

    12 is an integer

    -4 is an integer
