    W = 3 (2a + b)

    w = 6a + 3b

    Move 3b to the other side.

    w - 3b = 6a

    Divide both sides by 6.

    w/6 - 3b/6 = a

    Simplify.

    w/6 - b/2 = a

    a = w/6 - b/2
