The weight of pecans in the pack is 1 kg

And the weight of almonds = 3 kg

    Step-by-step explanation:

Let the weight of pecans in the box = x kg

So, the weight of almonds in the box = (3 x) kg

Cost per kg of almonds $7.50

Cost per kg of pecans = $9.00

Total Cost of the box = $31.50

    So, according to the question:

    $9.00 (x) + $7.50 (3 x) = $31.50

    or, 9x + 22.5x = 31.50

    ⇒ 31.5x = 31.50

    ⇒ x = 31.50 / 31.50 = 1

Hence, the weight of pecans in the pack is 1 kg

    And the weight of almonds = 3x = 3 x 1 = 3 kg
