The company profits increased 20% from last year. If the profits last year were $2,500, what are the company's profits this year?

    3,000 is the about of profits that the company gains. You would solve this by turning 20% into a decimal which would be 0.2. Next you will multiply 0.2 by 2,500 which then gives you 500. Next, add the 500 to the 2,500 and that gives you 3,000. Convert 3,000 to money and that gives you $3,000. So $3,000 is you answer.
