A squirrels in a tree 46 ft off the ground and throws a chestnut that lands on a bus 36 ft below the function h of T equals negative 16 t squared + 46 where T is the time measured in seconds gives the height of the nut above the ground in feet as it falls right and solve an equation to find the amount of time before the night lands on the bush

    h (t) = - 16t^2

    Given that the squirrel is 46 ft above the ground and throws the chestnut that lands on the bus 36 ft below, the distance between the squirrel and bus will be:

    46-36=10 ft

    thus the time taken for the nut to hit the ground will be:

    -46=-16t^2

    t^2=46/16

    t=1.696 sec
