    20 less than (-20) a number (n) is more than (>) twice the same number (2n)

    -20+n>2n

    minus n both sides

    -20>n

    n<-20

    N=number

    N - 20 > 2N

    -20 > N

    Step 1: Set up an inequality based on the words. twenty less means minus twenty or - 20. I used N for the unknown number. twenty less than a number, means N - 20. Is more than means its greater so N - 20 > than the twice the same number which is 2N. so N-20>2N is my inequality

    Step 2: subtract N from both sides and you are left with - 20 > N. which means that N has to be less than - 20. So, - 21, - 22, - 23 ... would all work.
