    For the senior-class election, 8 candidates are running for president and 6 for vice-president.

    the Fundamental Counting Principle states that if we have two events,

    Event 1 occurs in 'm' ways and Event 2 occurs in 'n' ways

    The total combination of events is m * n

    8 candidates are running for president and 6 for vice-president

    so total number of class combinations = 8 * 6 = 48

    Answer = 48
