    20% is. 2 as a decimal, so you multiply the value of 12 by. 2

    12 (.2) = 2.4

    The discount is $2.40

    Sale Price:

    subtract 2.4 from the price of the original price

    12-2.4=9.6

    The sale price is $9.60
