A cone with volume 1350 m³ is dilated by a scale factor of 13. What is the volume of the resulting cone?

    The term dilate means that the new cone is wider, broader, or bigger than the cone in the given. I would assume that the given scale is 1:3. This means that the dimensions of the second one is 3 times than those of the first. We cube 3 and multiply the answer with the given volume of the original cone in order to solve for the volume of the second cone. That is,

    volume of second cone = (1350 m³) (3³)

    = 36,450 cm³
