A garden is shaped like a rectangle whose perimeter is 70 ft. The length is 9 ft more than the width. Find the length and the width

    P=70

    L=9+w

    W=w

    so we know that Perimeter is all the sides added so 2l+2w

    so 70 = (2 (9+w)) + (2 (w))

    70=18+2w+2w

    70=18+4w

    52=4w

    w=13

    so L=9+w therefore L=9+13 L=22

    so L=22 and W=13
