The mean is the average of the numbers

to found the mean of n articles we add the values of all the articles and divide it by the number of articles.

Here we are given Articles as pumpkins

The value of an article is it's weight

the number of Articles = number of pumpkins = 4

Let us start finding mean of the weight of the pumpkins

    (8 + 11 + 23 + 15) divide by 4

    (57) divide by 4 = 14.25

To round to nearest tenth first we make it : 14.3 (5 was >=5) so we removed 5 and add 1 in 2

Now it is 14 (because 3 is < 5 so we removed it without any change in the digit left to it)

Now it is 10 (as 4 is also <5 so we remove it without any change inthe digit left to it)

    Answer : 10
