A taxi cab charges $0.45 per mile in addition to a $2.75 flat rate fee. Susie has $15 to spend on a taxi cab ride. The taxi driver will not give anyone a ride unless they are going somewhere that is more than 1 mile away. Model the scenario with a system of inequalities.

    d=distance in miles

    The cost is $2.75 (flat fee) plus $0.45 for each mile. This has to be less than or equal to the amount Susie has ($15)

    2.75 + 0.45d ≤ 15
