In 3 years, ron will be 2/3 the age of John. The sum of their present age is 44

    If I calculated it correctly:

    17+27 is 44

    17+3 and 27+3

    20 & 30

    20/30 is 2/3

    Therefore the answer is:

    Ron is 17 and John is 27!
