    6 + 5c = - 29

    •You are trying to find C

    Therefore you make C your subject by subtracting 6 on both sides then divide by 5.

    Like this;

    6 - 6 + 5c = - 29 - 6

    5c/5 = - 35/5

    c = - 7

    hence

    C = - 7.

    To check or prove that your answer is correct, simply sustitute (-7) into the equation in place of C and if the result is - 29 than its the correct answer.

    •Check;

    6 + 5 (-7) = ?

    6 + (-35) = ?

    6 - 35 = - 29

    Your answer is proved so C = - 7
