You use 6 gallons of water on 20 plants in your garden at that rate how much water will it take to water 30 plants

    6/20 = x/30 ... 6 gal to 20 plants = x gallons to 30 plants

    cross multiply

    (20) (x) = (30) (6)

    20x = 180

    x = 180/20

    x = 9 ... it would take 9 gallons for 30 plants
