Simplify 1/2 (4a+b) - 1/4 (4a+b)

So this can be rewritten as 2/4 (4a+b) - 1/4 (4ab) so this can be simplified more easily, 2/4-1/4=1/4. The simplified version is 1/4 (4a+b)
