A sporting goods manufacturer requires 3/8yd of fabric to make a pair of soccer shorts. how many shorts can be made from 9yds of fabric

    If 8/8 is 1 yard then you would do 9*8 to get 72 and put that over 8 then divide that by 3/8 to get 576/24. then you would solve that to get 24, so the solution is the manufacturer can produce 24 pairs of shorts with 9 yards of fabric.
