Find the value of a so that the lines with the given equations are perpendicular:

y=2x+13

6y+ax = 6.

    Perpendicular slopes are opposite and reciprocals of each other so "a" would equal 3.

    6y + 3x=6

    6y = - 3x + 6

    y = - 1/2x + 1
