    Order the set of values

    9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 20

    Median:

    Middle Value

    n = number of values

    if n is odd, the median is at position n/2

    if n is even, the median is between position n/2 and n/2 + 1

    n = 6

    6 is even, so the median is between position 6/2 and 6/2 + 1

    the median is between 11 and 12

    (11 + 12) / 2

    23/2

    11.5

    Mean

    9 + 10 + 11 + 12 + 14 + 20 = 76/6

    = 12.666 ...

    = 12.7 to the nearest tenth.
