During a senate campaign, a volunteer passed out a "Vote for Shaw" button. According to the catalog from which the button was ordered, it has an area of 78.5 square centimeters. What is the button's radius?

Use 3.14 for pi .

    area=pi times radius^2

    pi=3.14

    area=78.5

    78.5=3.14 times radius^2

    divide both sides by 3.14

    25=r^2

    sqrt both sides

    5=r

    the radius is 5cm
