2w (3w-1) = 6w-2w = 4w

is this correct?

    No, sorry, that's not correct.

    2w (3w - 1)

    We dstribute the 2w factor

    = (2w) (3w) - 2w (1)

    then we multiply out each term,

    = 6w² - 2w

    and we can stop here.
