When you multiply fractions you multiply straight across. So you'd have 4*4 equals 16. Then you multiply the denominators: 5*5. This would give you 25. So then you have 16/25. It is simplified and cannot be reduced. So no multiplying 4/5 by 4/5 does not equal 4/5.
