Subtract 5 from both sides
2/7y = 4
Multiply both sides by 7
2y = 28
Divide both sides by 2
y = 14

*it is important to note that 2 divided by 7 is the same as the fraction 2 over 7 or 2 7ths. Fractions are division.
1.) Multiple 7 by each side
2y+5=63
2.) subtract 5 from each side
2y=58
3.) divide each side by 2
y=29
4) Check your answer
2 (29) + 5=63
58+5=63
63=63
5.) y=29
