Use the distributive property to rewrite each algebraic expression.

    8 (x) + 8 (1)

    =8x+8

    Using the distributive property a (b+c) you would do the following.

    a * b + a * c.

    So,

    8 (x+1)

    8*x = 8x

    8*1 = 8

    8+8 = 16
