The solution will be 25 x 3 = 75 + 8 = 83 / 26 = 3.192

Hence the number becomes 3.20

The average formula is the sum / total quantity. In this question you are given the average which is 3 and the total quantity which is the number of the students 25. so changing the formula 25*3=75 so the total number of siblings is 75. Therefore add 8 more siblings to it 75+8=83 and divide by 25+1 = 26 because one more student has come. 83/26=3.192.
