A gardener is planting two types of trees: Type A is 9 feet tall and grows at a rate of 6 inches per year. Type B is 8 feet tall and grows at a rate of 8 inches per year. Algebraically determine exactly how many years it will take for these trees to be the same height.

    let x be the no. of years it takes to be the same height

    9ft=108inches

    8ft = 96inches

    96+8x=108+6x

    2x = 12

    x=6
