Let's start off with the basics, one foot is 12 inches ... therefore 6 feet would be a total of 60 inches. A meter is much larger than a foot, each meter is about 39.7 inches almost 40 total. To convert 6 feet into meters, what you need to do is subtract one meter which is about almost 40 inches from 60 because in your scenario, 6 feet is 60 inches. So when you subtract a meter from 60 you are left with 20 inches total, so 6 feet converted into meters would be one meter and 20 inches. If you want to get a little more technical, 6 feet would convert to a meter and a half, because as stated before 40 inches is a meter, half of a meter is 20 inches. Therefore your result would be one meter and a half.
