    As " that the difference between the number of dots showing on the two dice is 2" we have (1; 3), (3; 1), (2; 4), (4; 2), (3; 5), (5; 3), (4; 6), (6; 4). That is 8 ways.

    And we have 36 possibilities in all, the probability is 8/36 = 2/9
