At 10 a. m., Jake and Joe both start running toward each other from opposite ends of a 10 trail. Jake runs at a pace of 12 minutes per mile. Joe runs 15 minutes per mile. Do Joe and Jake meet on the trail within 1 hour?

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Let the distance covered by the slower runner be x km

    then the distance of the other is 10-x km

    since time = distance/rate

    x/6 = (10-x) / 10

    solve for x, then sub into x/6 for the time
