The area of a square is 36in what is the length of each side

    It would be 6 inches because you can divide 36 by 6

    Area = a^2 ... where " a " is the length of one side

    A = 36

    36 = a^2 ... take the square root of both sides, eliminating the ^2

    sqrt 36 = a

    6 = a < = = = so each side is 6 inches
