    If Marsha's account increases at 225 per month ... and at 8 months she has 4580 ... 8 * 225 = 1800 ... 4580 - 1800 = 2780 ... this means she started with 2780 ... what she started with is ur y int ... so the y int here is 2780.

    y - 1400 = 56 (x + 26)

    y - 1400 = 56x + 1456

    y = 56x + 1456 + 1400

    y = 56x + 2856 ... ur y int here is 2856

    so the smaller y int is Tim's with a y int of 2780 <==
