Odell has the same number of quarters, dimes, and nickels. In all he has $4 in change. How many of each coin does he have?

    Since the number of quarters, dimes, and nickels is going to be the same for each, we can assign x as the quantity of each coin and place it by its monetary value:.25x +.10x +.05x = 4.00 This then simplifies to:.40x = 4.00 4 divided by. 4 gives x a value of 10, so there would be 10 quarters, 10 dimes, and 10 nickels.
