    Qty · Cost = Total

    Candy 1: x $8 = 8x

    Candy 2: 6 $10 = 10 (6)

    Mixture: x + 6 $8.5 = 8x + 10 (6)

    (x + 6) (8.5) = 8x + 60

    8.5x + 51 = 8x + 60

    .5x = 9

    x = 18

    Answer: 18 lbs
