    The best answer for the question is C - The equation is not true for any value of x.

    The reason for this is if we subtract 3x from both sides, there are no variables left. since there are no variables left, we know since first grade that 8 does not equal to - 5 ... with that being true, there is no value we can assign to x to make this a true statement.
