Okay, the first thing we would have to do is distribute the negative sign and then get x to one side and the answer on the other. When there is a minus sign, there is an imaginary one in front of it.
7x - (2x-1) = 2
7x-1 (2x-1) = 2
7x-1*2x-1*-1=2
7x-2x+1=2
5x+1=2
5x=1
x=1/5
So x, is equal to 1/5 or in decimal form, 0.2. If you plug 1/5 (or in decimal form, 0.2), the equation will be correct/true.
