Describe the error in the work shown below.

Find an expression equivalent to 18 + 30.

Factors of 18: 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18

Factors of 30: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 30

18 + 30 = 6 (3 + 10)

    The factor that multiplies with 6 to get 18 is 3 but the factor that multiplies with 6 to get 30 is 5.

    The numbers in parenthesis should be a 5 and not a 10.

    18 + 30 = 6 (3 + 5)

    The expression is incorrect because 68 is not equivalent to 48 so in order to fix this you must write 18 + 30 = 6 (3+5) which gives you 48 as well.
