If x varies directly as y, and x equals 6 when y equals 3, find X when y equals 4.

    Since they are directly proportional so the ratio between them is constant

    x/y = 6/3

    when y = 4, x/4 = 6/3, x = (6/3) * 4 = 8

    x=6 when y=3

    then

    x=8 when y=4

    so

    x=2*y
