Common denominator is 7*4 = 28. We start with 77/28 and give 12/28 away. That leaves us with 65/28, or 2 and 9/28. IF your question was about what's left, this is what's left.

Ok, so if Michael has 2 3/4 cups of juice and he gives to his friend 3/7 how much did he give to the friend? That's the question. In order to do this you have to turn the mixed number into a regular fraction where the numerator has to be higher than the denominator or you can turn the 2 3/4 cups of juice into a decimal and the answer is 2.75 cups of juice for Michael. So in order to do this you must be really good at dividing. Since both numbers are uneven that means that their is going to be a continuous decimal and the answer for the whole question is 0.42857142857
