    (3/10) + 4 (2/5) + (3/10)

    2 (3/10) + (8/5)

    (6/10) + (8/5)

    (6/10) + (16/10)

    (6+16) / 10

    22/10

    (20+2) / 10

    2 2/10

    2 1/5 miles

2/5 times 4 is equal to blank miles because 2 times 4 is 8 and 8/5 reduces to 1 and 3/5 or 6/10.

3/10 times 2 would be 6/10 because it would be to and from home

    add the two 1 6/10 + 6/10 = 1 12/10 which equals 2 and 2/10 or 1/5

    Answer: 2 1/5 miles.
