How do you key in the power of a number? For example: 4x (to the 2nd power)

    Just about everyone here writes a power like this:

    4x^2 which means 4x squared.

    If you have a Windows computer, you could hold down the "ALT" key and at the same time, type in the number 0178 and you will get this ²

    So then you could type 4x² just as it should appear.
