    f = 30t + 50

    Step-by-step explanation:

    He earns 30 for each hour of work. He earns 170 for 4 hours of work.

    4 hours x 30 per hour = 120

    This means that the initial fee is 50, and then the 120 for 4 hours.

    Thus,

    f = 30t + 50

    where 30t is the money earned from working t hours and 50 is the added initial fee.
